Heard A “tik-tik” Sound Outside? Confirmed, As A Witch Aswang!!!

Juan, a city boy goes to sleep at his friend’s house in Tigbauan, Iloilo Philippines. His friend’s house is located in remote province far meters away to a rough road (not yet cemented road) and life there isn’t easy, you need to go to the nearest town in order to shop basic needs and food at the town’s public market. Even School site are thousand of steps to reach it as well as the barrio’s chapel or the towns church. Water wells are very deep down the ground and mostly, drained and no water at all; the reason why rice

crops there are only once at a year.

People there sleep too early because even though the sun is not set yet at the horizon, you can feel darkness all over the places…. Chickens, dog, ducks and other farm animals are backing down to their nests. Not just darkness, but cold temperature is increasing (from a heat environment during noontime).

Nineteen hundred hours (current time) and the people there are all sleeping (too early) because people there mostly in the provinces sleeps early while wake up in the morning (even when the sun is not yet visible in the horizon) for a whole hard work under the heat of the sun.

While Juan (after dinner) sleeps early with friends and

Juan heard a murmuring sound outside the window (particularly in the old oak trees) bird sound’s like “TIK TIK!!!!” and that voices never stops and keeps on increasing. Naturally, Juan starts too frightened even though not knowing what types of sounds is it….

His friend notice the reaction of Juan and his friends already knows what Juan’s feeling all about; and his friend explain to Juan that the voices that he heard is a voices of Witches that whenever they saw new strangers – they are aggressive to attack intruder visitors if having a chances… witches that can fly on nighttime only (nocturnal creatures of the dark) Then Juan grab a two pillows and hug it hard and starts praying until the voices disappears after hours.

Traditional Provincial beliefs such as these “Tik Tik” believers never fade as long as the superstitious beliefs are passed from father to son or mother to a daughter.
